Safeguarding Children and Young People Level 2
Putting Safeguarding at the heart of our community.
This one day course is suitable for staff and volunteers who have completed a level 1 safeguarding course.
As well as touching on the four categories of abuse, this course enables participants to understand and recognise the signs abuse, identify the appropriate actions for responding and reporting concerns about child’s welfare in line with their organisational safeguarding policy as well as understanding the local authority’s reporting protocol.
Learning Outcomes:
- identify the four categories of abuse invluding new safeguarding concerns - Female Genital Mutilation, Child Sexual Exploitation and your role in the Preventing Extremism.
- recognise signs and symptoms of abuse
- respond to a disclosure
- understand the referral process
- implement safer working practices
The course will give you an opportunity learn about what your responsibilities entail and what support is available. You will also be able to raise issues and concerns in confidential environment.
