Afternoon Session -Domestic and Sexual Violence Training
Afternoon Session - Domestic Abuse and Complex Needs
This training provides information and tools for understanding and working effectively with survivors of domestic abuse, in particular those facing additional disadvantage with mental illness. You will deepen your awareness about the impacts of abuse on survivor’s mental health and explore some of the factors that prevent women from engaging in support. There will be space for you to reflect on some of your own challenges of working with survivors and we will explore ideas and examples of good practice in this work. You will also learn about domestic abuse and other services in your area that can support survivors with the next steps on their recovery journey.
There is also a Morning session click here for more information
Both trainings operate as standalone sessions, but participants are welcome to attend both if they so choose.
These workshops are funded by London Councils through the Ascent partnership. This funding also provides specialist refuges and an outreach service. Please let us know if you’d like to learn more about these services.
All are welcome to attend; however, some parts of this training may not be relevant to Housing Options Teams. Specialist training for Housing Options Officers can be arranged free of charge on request. Please contact Ellen on e.tansey@solacewomensaid.org to organise.
